The Bonding Experience

This all seems to have happened so quickly! It was as if Colby had taken his ‘role’ as ‘big brother or guardian’ to heart, and is fulfilling a mission of his own. Colby is the Alpha (first born) of his own litter. It should not be surprising to us that he ‘took Callie in’ as his pack member. After all, what is an Alpha (a leader) without a pack – probably a purpose somewhat unfulfilled until now.

Whatever the reasons, we are so extremely pleased with how this has all unfolded! We could not have wished, or dared to dream of a better outcome. To be perfectly honest, after a few short weeks of witnessing this bond solidify it is difficult to understand why we did not pursue this sooner. We have never seen Colby happier, and Callie feels right at home as she came from a litter of four puppies. To her the scenery and the climate may be a little different. The pack dynamics a little different, but not an insurmountable change to which she can adapt, and it seems she has.

Well, as they say the ‘proof is in the pudding’! We have it seems made a very nice pudding - indeed. Colby and Callie were meant for each other. It is now somewhat difficult for us to imagine a life any different than what we now experience. What perplexes us is why we waited so long within our lifetime to enjoy this amazing experience of two Wire-Fox Terriers. Whatever the reason(s), we are joyful that we have it now. It is so rewarding, enriching, and fulfilling to experience the delight for living that they both continually demonstrate within their soul(s). It is a lesson that we treasure daily, perhaps one that others may discover.
